THE FORM
The Imperial Etch is a men's dress shoe that does without laces. A leather strap crosses the instep and closes at the side with a small gold stud, leaving the front of the shoe smooth and uninterrupted. Among men's side-strap dress shoes it is the quieter one: the detail is there, but it waits to be noticed.
THE MATERIAL
The upper is genuine leather. The vamp is smooth and burnished, darkening towards the toe, while the quarters and the strap carry a printed crocodile finish. The contrast between the two surfaces gives the shoe its depth: polish at the front, texture at the sides.
THE DETAIL
A punched medallion decorates the toe, and the gold stud is the only metal on the shoe. A tan lining shows at the collar. The rubber sole grips polished floors and wet pavements and keeps the shoe quiet underfoot, and a low heel keeps the stance level.
THE FIT

CARE
