The Leather Legacy is a men's oxford in smooth leather and suede, with a punched toe and a small buckled strap at the heel.
THE FORM
The Leather Legacy is a men's oxford: the lacing is closed, with the facings stitched beneath the vamp, which gives the cleanest front a lace-up can have. On the outer side of the heel, a small strap closes with a silver buckle, a nod to the monk shoe that makes a plain oxford more particular. The toe is long and almond-shaped.
THE MATERIAL
The upper pairs two genuine leathers in one colour. Smooth, polished leather runs from the toe over the lacing; soft suede sweeps in a curve along the side and around the heel. The two surfaces catch the light differently, so the shoe looks tonal rather than flat.
THE DETAIL
A punched medallion decorates the toe, and the buckle is the only metal on the shoe. A yellow leather lining shows at the collar. The rubber sole grips polished floors and wet pavements and keeps the shoe quiet underfoot, and a low stacked heel keeps the stance level.
THE FIT
Most customers take their usual European size. Between sizes, take the lower for a snug instep and the higher for a wider foot. It comes in European sizes 38 to 47, and we answer sizing questions on WhatsApp before you order.
THE OCCASION

CARE
Brush the smooth leather after wear and polish it with a cream of the same colour every few weeks; brush the suede with a soft suede brush to lift the nap. Let the shoes dry away from direct heat, and keep shoe trees in them between wears.
